I have called around to see if anybody has any peas and was told by Paul Mazza's in Essex that maybe in a week if we get some warm weather and sunshine.  The same goes for strawberries - warm weather and sunshine are needed.

Talked with John Rainville at church Sunday and he tells me his garden is not doing well at all either.  I did get a call from my Garden Angel this morning and she told me she had some asparagus and spinach that she planned to drop off to me, so that sounds great.

The note I got from Riverberry Farm indicated that they would need some warm weather and sunshine to push the strawberries along.  I have been watching Rob Gate's garden up near the Fairfax Water Reservoir and that seems to be coming along.  Mr. Russell, who lived there years ago always had a beautiful garden, even though it does not catch a lot of sunlight and it is probably the last place on the Fletcher Road to lose its snow cover.

I would be interested in hearing how everybody's gardens are doing, so that I don't spread false rumors.

The old farmers used to say, "Cold Wet May, Barn Full Of Hay."  This year we had a very dry warm May and looks like maybe a cold wet June, but don't have an Old Farmer's Saying for that.

Hi Henry,
My garden seems to be doing great! Peas and potatoes are flowering.
I have had a lot of radishes and beet greens will be ready very soon!
We will see about tomatoes, after last year anything I get I will enjoy!
Scallions, green beans, lettuce, egg plant, peppers, pumpkins and zucchini
all seem to be growing normal. I only have 5 strawberry plants, but so far we
have had three ripe berries!

JoAnne tells me her garden is doing well also - She dropped Maryann and I off some asparagus and spinach - What a sweetheart she is.  She also left us a nice bouquet of flowers.

Maryann and I feel so fortunate to have people do such nice things for us.

Daughter Mary Kay called last night and says her topsy turvy tomatoes have little tomatoes on them, so she is pretty happy with her new experiment.
