** PRESS RELEASE **
DATE OF RELEASE:  August 25, 2010   

INCIDENT:    Armed Robbery
CASE #:  10A303301
INVESTIGATOR:  Det. Sgt. Lance Burnham 

DATE & TIME OF INCIDENT:  August 25, 2010 @ approximately 1356 hours         

LOCATION:    Randolph National Bank
20 Methodist Lane
Williamstown, VT

ACCUSED:      Unknown 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: 
On the above date and time the Vermont State Police Middlesex Barracks received an alarm activation at the Randolph National Bank in Williamstown.  The alarm was activated as a result of an armed robbery.  Information was obtained that a male entered the bank and brandished a handgun then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash in the following vehicle headed north on Rt. 14:

·         VERMONT REGISTRATION:  EXP 543

·         1997 4-door Honda Accord

·         Dark in color

·         After market clear brake light covers

The Vermont State Police have been in contact with the registered owner of the vehicle and they are speaking with that person as part of this investigation.     

The male is described as followed:

White male
Fair skin
Age: Approximately 18 years old
Height: Approximately 5’7”
Weight: Approximately 130 lbs.
Wore glasses w/silver frame
Black baggy pants
Black baggy hoodie
 
There were no customers in the bank at the time of the robbery, however there were three tellers.  There were no reported injuries.

The Vermont State Police and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department are on scene investigating the incident.  Surveillance footage is in the process of being obtained. 

Anyone who may have witnessed the event or seen the above mentioned vehicle, or any suspicious vehicles or persons in the area around the time of the robbery is asked to call the Vermont State Police Middlesex Barracks at 802-229-9191.

The Vermont State Police are no longer looking for the below mentioned vehicle that was involved in the armed bank robbery in Williamstown earlier this afternoon. The vehicle was located and the occupants are being questioned by State Police investigators at this time. Once more information becomes available, it will be released.
