Helen A. (Alice) Federico (age 90),   Beloved wife of Antonio T. Federico (deceased), born in Boston, MA on June 17, 1920, died at home on Thursday September, 9, 2010 in Williston, VT while holding her daughter’s hand.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Antonio T. Federico, her son Richard C. Federico, her brothers Vincent, Anthony, Stanley, Frank and her sister Anna.

Helen grew up, married and raised her family in Boston, MA.  After the death of her husband in 2001 she moved to Bridgewater with her son Michael and then to Williston, VT to be closer to her daughter, Toni.  She was and is an inspiration to all of us.

She taught us to love no matter what, to serve no matter how we felt, to tell the truth, to help people, to keep things in order, to cook, to read, to take care of others, to clean up messes whether we made them or not, to use our crayons to color, to make our own play dough, to cut things out of construction paper, to write funny poems, to do our homework whether we thought it was fair or not and make grand holiday and birthday celebrations.

She loved coffee, corn flakes, Dewar’s and soda, cooking, card games, cheetos, chips, popcorn, crossword puzzles, mystery books, parties, presents, sneakers in different colors, interesting pins and ALL of us.

We carry her heart in our hearts…wherever we go, she goes…always.

Helen was able to stay at her home in her final months due to the incredible generosity and grace of some amazing people…mere words cannot convey to all of you the deep gratitude and love that we have for you, your kindness, patience, humor, hard work and love helped us to give Mom/Nana the kind of care that she gave to all of us.  For this and for so many other things we thank you, may your grace return to bless you a million times over.  Thank you Deb, Pam, Roberta, Jane, Patti, Florence, Delores, Tammy, Steve O, Lillian, Shelia, Julie, Diane, Sandy, Elizabeth, John, Little John, Joyce, Leo, the flower men Steve Lentini and Phil Albright, all the people at Eagle Crest, the people at Sweet Clover Market, Centerpiece Florist, Home Instead, Hospice and the incredible, amazing, sweet and kind people of the Visiting Nurses Association.

Helen is survived by her daughter Toni Stone and her husband Steve in Fairfax, VT, her son Michael and his wife Alice in Fairfax, VT, her granddaughter Noelle Federico in Franklin, TN, her granddaughter Karen Echols in Kernersville, NC, her grandson Rick Federico in Broken Arrow, IN, her grandsons Nicholas and Domenic Federico in MA, her great-grandchildren Kevin and Kate Haas, Zachary and Bethany Federico and Antonio M. Federico.  Her Sister-in-law Pauline (Polly) DiMaggio and her beloved nieces and nephews: Barbara, Bobbi, Stanley, Janice, Virginia, Paula, Pauline, James, Popsie, Jeanie, Johnny, Joanne, Debbie, Mary, Richard, Christopher, Peter, Paul, Joey and Toni-Anne.

A memorial celebration of her life will be held on October 23rd, 2010 at The Essex in Essex Jct., VT (time TBA) please RSVP to 802.849.2257 if you would like to join us.  Potted flowers can be sent to the Memorial Celebration.
