Yeah... But to clairify, I'm only paying the fine- my wife was the one driving (She felt the need to go to Burger King.

She informes me that a $200.00 cheeseburger tastes the same as a $2.00 one.

I have been doing work the Alaska Department of Transportation, it suks, but Speed limits are based on the most excellent driving conditions. (lack of a better adjective).

Clear asphalt........... Kick in the cruise control and pop in a Sinatra CD!
Snow and ice.......... Kick in a classical music CD.

How about 40 mph on County Rd from St. Albans to Swanton?  It's mostly straight road with very few houses and wide open farm fields.  My guess, somebody on the road who likes to drive slow is buddies with someone on the Swanton board.

10 mph over the limit will save 5 minutes or more - depending on the length of your trip.  I'll use my 40 mile daily commute as an example:
@ 40 mph = 60 minutes,
@ 50 mph = 48 minutes
