FAIRFAX --  Robert C. “Gubby” Luman, 56, “The Man, The Myth and The Legend” of Maple Street died unexpectedly Friday August 4, 2006 at his home in Fairfax.

Gubby was born January 14, 1950 in St. Albans “Kerbs’ Baby” the son of the late John Robert and Bernice LeMay Luman. A lifelong resident, he attended Fairfax schools.  A natural salesman, he enjoyed wheeling and dealing, whether it be automobiles, boats, guns or baseball cards. 

An avid outdoorsman, Gubby enjoyed his trips to Alaska as well as hunting and fishing in the area.  He loved taking his time and being with his friends, riding around the back roads looking for wildlife or going down to the lake and finding a nice spot to just sit and enjoy a beautiful sunset.  All those who knew him will miss him.

Gubby is survived by his son, Robert C. Luman, Jr. of Anchorage Alaska and Wanda Carp also of Anchorage who was Gubby’s longtime companion and mother of his son.  His Uncle “Peanut” Raymond Luman and his wife, Helga of New Jersey, his aunt Lillian Robtoy of St. Albans.  His cousins, Donald Luman and his wife Lynn of Fairfax, Richard LeMay of Johnson, Frank Luman of Burlington and Mike and Denise Luman of New York He also leaves behind a long list of friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 11, 2006 at 2 pm in the Minor Funeral Home, Route 7 in Milton.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the hour of the service on Friday.

Arrangements are by the Minor Funeral Home of Milton.[/b]
