All,
Check out this nice article. The esteemed Sen Bernie Sanders provides some commentary. Not sure why my 401K is up for discussion and why they are evening discussing plans like this. Well, I actually do. To bad not many others understand where things are headed.

There was a time that I was niave enough to believe that something like this could "never" happen, but I've come to realize there is NOTHING our government can't take if they decide they "need" to, or decide such action is "in the best interest of the public".

Honestly, I wouldn't care about paying the extra retirement fund tax IF  (HUGE IF) it would guarantee me a secure retirment, but our government is so good at mismanagement of almost everything that I would prefer to take my chances in open market and developing my own retirement plan.

The problem is that most folks are still naive enough to believe that nothing like this could possibly happen. But it very well could. Bernie Sanders is a socialist in "Independent's" clothing. You should read his plan on things like estate taxes and wealth redistribution. Scary as well. If only we could get him to work on getting some of the career / corporate welfare recipients onto a program like "work redistribution" we could make some progress.

Just read a short note talking about how this may come up for a vote in the Lame Duck session. Talking about the IRS taking control of personal accounts in order to protect them from their owners. Fascinating. And Bernie Sanders has his socialist hand in on this one. This Lame Duck session could have some real impact with things like Cap & Trade (Tax) and the "National ID card". If I'm not mistaken, isn't it Duck season still?

Ron, You know I always respect your well thought out opinions, however, I'm not seeing anything here other than hyperboli. The sources you list are not only flagrantly one-sided, the Examiner is hardly credible--it is nothing more than a website of non-journalists who don't even have to have any kind of writing experience or expertise, just an "interest" in a subject matter and they are given a web page to post their blogs and are paid by how many hits it receives. The stuff that is written isn't well researched, well balanced news, it's lopsided, opinionated, and regurgitated from other like websites!

I understand that everyone has highly charged opinions and beliefs and that's what our democratic system is all about, however It concerns me that the internet is so pervasive with junk disguised as news that it colors and feeds everyones worst fears and  thoughts of  what is really happening.

Please believe me when I tell you that you really have to look for sources that give both sides of a story and not just the ones that tell you what you already believe. They are the only ones that are accurate.

I totally get that none of you like or agree with Barack Obama or his policy's, I'm sorry your guy didn't win in the last election, but that's how it goes. You're responsibility as a thinking citizen is not to just feed your own ego on what you already believe--that his policy sucks and he's going to tank the country, but to seek the truth. I didn't agree with the last president's policy to get into a war in Iraq that made little sense, but I understood that our troops were doing their job and respect them all the more for it. I also knew that it's important to get both perspectives. No one side is right. I'm sorry you think so. One side my be more right at times than the other but it's rarely a sweep.

Is there any real proof that this 401K thing is true? Has it been discussed in the mainstream media? has it been in any legitimate news source? has there been any explanation for  it other than a GOP war cry?

If the world gives you melons, you might be dyslexic
