Freeman "Bud" LaCasse
Freeman "Bud" LaCasse, 70 of Island Pond and formerly of Arkansas died on October 10, 2010 in St. Johnsbury with his loving wife Odila of 37 years by his side. He was born on January 22, 1940 in North Stratford, NH; a son of the late Armand and Antionette (Roby) LaCasse. On October 12, 1973, he married Olida Quintin who survives him. His profession as a power line heavy equipment transmission technician brought him across many parts of the country and finally ending back to Vermont in July of this year. Bud always loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, traveling, visiting new places and meeting new and old friends, and most of all he loved his family and enjoyed visiting them whenever he could. He is survived by his beloved wife Odila LaCasse of Island Pond, by his daughters: Kim Dion and her husband Dennis of Texas, Laura Leonard and her husband Roger of Georgia, Tina Elmer and her husband Rick of Mass, by his six siblings: Raymond LaCasse and his wife Charlotte of Mt. Sterling, KY; Virginia Johnson and her husband Ronald of Nashua, NH; Donald LaCasse of Raymond, NH; Dianne Worth of Island Pond, VT; Susan Lepine and her husband Daniel of Beecher Falls, VT; and Robert LaCasse and his wife Jackie of Hooksett, NH; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and by a loving aunt Doris (Roby) Breese of Tilton, NH; a brother in law Albert Quinton, of Essex, VT; a sister in law Rosalie Paquette of Millbury, MA. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Roland, and by a step daughter Sandy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday October 14, 2010 at the St. Luke's Catholic Church, 17 Huntville Road, Fairfax, VT with the Rev. Julian Asucan celebrating a mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow at the St. Luke's Cemetery in Fairfax. Should friends desire contributions in Bud's memory may be made to the Lyndon Rescue, c/o Brighton Rescue, PO Box 401, Lyndonville, Vt. 05851. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home locally family owned and operated.
