Well, a strange thing has happened to me.  From time to time, when I sit down in my favorite Lazy Boy, I pull the footrest up and get one notch from the top and I cannot lower or raise it from that point.  Well, I am going to be 77 years old in a few weeks, and I do have to say that climbing out of that Lazy Boy over that footrest can be a challenge.

Last night it was after 11 p.m. and I went to get out of my Lazy Boy and no such luck.  Try as I might, had a heck of a time getting out of it.  I would not have called 911, but since my daughter was home would have tried to call her, but fortunately after a number of trys was able to get out of it.

I have made a call this morning to Al Daudelin who repairs Lazy Boys, so hopefully he will get it fixed for me.

I sure would feel foolish and embarrased if Mary Kay wasn't around and I had to call 911 to get me out of my Lazy Boy.

Well, I got my Lazy Boy fixed - Total cost was $55/

Alan Daudelin at 802-233-6406 is the man to call

He was here a couple years ago and replaced a couple of springs.  The problem this time was some burrs on the cam.  He also replaced a couple of small springs.

Henry, I'm sure anyone from Fire or Rescue would be happy to respond to help you out!  Have you considered a power-lift chair?  I'm told they are quite comfortable.

Great deal on getting it fixed though!

I have a power lift chair - Maryann had one and she did not like it - Very uncomfortable and I don't care for it either.  It is sitting in Maryann's room, so if I ever do have a problem getting out of the chair, will most likely move it in here in the living room

Alan came right away when I called him.  He told me that he tries to come asap when Seniors call.  He was here within two hours after I called him.

I am sure you guys would have come and Mary Kay would have come also.  Fortunately I have the phone right next to the chair as well as one of my Medic Alerts.

Keep getting in & out of that chair by your own steam for as long as you can Henry, it's the best thing for you! Those power lift chairs are not only uncomfortable, they're slow. ;-)
