And Another Delicious Meal Prepared By Ellie & Ede

Another great meal today prepared by Ellie Galloway and Ede Kirkpatrick.

We had chicken marsalis, rice, mushroom gravy, squash, beautiful warm rolls, coffee and for dessert a great pumpkin cake. I actually went back for a second piece of the cake and was told that it was a family recipe made from scratch by one of our volunteer cooks, Ellie Galloway.

We are indeed very grateful to our volunteer cooks Ellie Galloway and Ede Kirkpatrick who do this on a volunteer basis. We were trying to pay some cooks, and it looked like we just were not going to make it. We have had a number of people that have donated squash and other veggies which also has been very helpful. Elaine mentioned this morning that we had had a lot of squash donated, but the seniors are not complaining as seems like everybody likes it. I am sure they will come up with a number of ways to use it.

A special thanks also to all the other volunteers who help out in different ways at our luncheons at the Fire Station on the First and Third Tuesdays at noon.
