Catherine (Provost) Corse

Fletcher - Catherine (Provost) Corse, 87, surrounded by her family became our Christmas Angel December 26, 2010.  Catherine was born on June 19, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Orena (Cavanaugh) Provost.  She married E. Rodney Corse on June 20, 1946 and lived and raised their family in Fletcher.  Catherine was a devoted mother to 8 children; Homer Corse, Pat Corse, Barb and Robert Tremblay, Marlene and Mike Martell, Elaine Barkyoumb, Dennis and Michelle Corse, Douglas and Sue Corse and Marcia Corse.  A loving, proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren Bryan Corse, Travis and Jasmine Tremblay, Dustin and Kristi Tremblay, Marcus Martell, Jared, Katie, Seth Barkyoumb, Kandie Corse, Kristy and Kassie Corse and Courtney Meunier.  A loving great grandmother to 5 great grandchildren, Breanne Corse, Paige Tremblay, Brandon Tremblay, Sadie and Sage Deso.  Siblings Mary and Roger Boozan, Gladys and Harold Degree, Ellie Brown, Raymond and Marilyn Provost, Leon and Diane Provost, sister-in-law Ardelle Spaulding and many nieces and nephews.
   
She was also predeceased by her husband Rodney on April 16, 1988, 7 siblings and 2 nephews.

Catherine was a devoted homemaker and a dedicated family person.  Her greatest joys were family get-togethers, be it holidays, birthdays, fall corn harvest or reunions.  Her apple pies and potato salads will be missed.  “We love you Mom, Our Christmas Angel.”

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday December 30, 2010 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday December 31, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Fairfax with the Reverend Julian Asucan officiating.  Burial will follow in the family lot in Binghamville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in Catherine’s memory can be made to The American Cancer Society 55 Day Lane Williston, VT 05495-1460 or The American Lung Association of VT 372 Hurricane Lane Suite 101 Williston, VT 05495.  Arrangements are by John D. Workman, A. W.
