RICHFORD – Lynn E. “Buster” Fletcher, died Sunday March 20, 2011 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans one week after his 75th birthday.

He was born in Waterville on March 13, 1936 the son of the late Homer & Gladys (Gross) Fletcher.

Buster enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hawaii during the time Hawaii became a state. He later became a member of the Vermont National Guard. He retired from Blue Seal Feeds in 2000 where he had worked for 44 years.

Buster was an avid reader and fan of Louis L’Amour. He loved listening to country music and going for rides around the mountain. He looked forward to his daily walks around town with Pudge. He took pride in his garden and his lawn care. He liked to hunt and loved to sit on his porch with a cold can of beer on hot summer nights. He had a special love for Fords having owned several over the years. He loved to hear a good joke and had a good sense of humor and usually wore a smile.

The true love of his life was his family. He was married to Joyce “Jo” (Farrar) Fletcher for 49 years, who survives him. He was the father to Kelli Peters and her fiancé, Michael Lawyer of Richford, Jody Fletcher and his wife Kelly of Richford, Aaron Fletcher and his wife Vicki of Richford, and Hailey Jewett and her companion James Latimer of Fairfax; his grandchildren, Amanda, Ben, Amy, Emily, Jacob, Macie, Zach, Samantha, Katie, Evan and Emma; and a great granddaughter, Natalie born March 21, 2011. He leaves a brother, Noel “Buddy” Fletcher and his wife Janice; sisters-in-law, Joyce Fletcher of, Dorothy Fletcher, Geraldine D’Agostino; Doris Farrar, and Eunice Hogan; 2 brothers-in-law, Raymond Parent, and Ronald West; several nieces and nephews; a close friend, Freddy Lossman. He also leaves behind his pet pug dog, “Pudge” who was his constant companion and the numerous children who spent time at the Fletcher residence over the years considering it a second home where Buster treated them like family. Besides his parents, Buster was predeceased by his brothers, Fay, Garth, Vern & Keith Fletcher; and his sister, Iris and her husband James Todd.

Buster’s family would like to thank the staff at the Northwestern Medical Center for the care they gave to Buster during his stay there.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Richford Center Cemetery with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. There will be no visiting hours.

In lieu of flowers donations in Buster’s name may be made to the Green Mountain Pug Rescue, C/O Phil Douglas, 283 Town Line, Mendon, VT 05701.
