Robert B. Ladd, Sr.

Fletcher - Robert Barker “Bob” Ladd, Sr., 75, passed away on Thursday May 12, 2011 at his home with his loving family by his bedside.  He was born in Burlington, VT on November 21, 1935 son of the late Robert Charles Ladd and Edythe (Barker) Ladd.  Bob proudly served for 13 years in the US Marine Corps.  He was a foreman for the Pizzagalli Construction Company and had worked in construction most of his life.  He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing with his son Rob and his great granddaughter Chelsea.  Bob also enjoyed going to camp in Marshfield with his son-in-law Larry, and grandson Corey.

He is survived by his loving wife Nancy (Sheltra) Ladd of Fletcher;  His daughter Kathy Larrow and husband Larry of Sheldon;  His son Robert Ladd, Jr. and wife Christine of NM;  His step children Becky Hunt and husband Marty of SC;  George Ferguson Jr. of Fairfax;  Richard Ferguson and wife Carol of VA;  Tracy Ferguson of Fletcher;  Randall Ferguson of Fairfax;  Trudy Meunier and fiancé Dan Gilbert of Georgia;  Reginald Ferguson of SC;  22 grandchildren;  10 great-grandchildren;  his brother William Ladd and wife Lois of FL;  two sisters Jean Sue Dickson of FL;  Carol Ann Vance and husband Bill of NM;  Several nieces, nephews, cousins and his dog “Sammy”.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Franklin County Home Health and Reverend Elizabeth Griffin.

There will be no public visiting hours held.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Fairfax United Church with Reverend Elizabeth Griffin officiating.  Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions in Bob’s memory to Franklin County Home Health and Hospice, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05478 or Lamoille Area Cancer Network, P.O. Box 38 Lake Elmore, VT 05657.  The family is being assisted by Direct Cremation Services and invites you to view Bob’s life tribute by visiting www.awrichfuneralhomes.com.
