Sandy (Young) Zeno

SANDY (YOUNG) ZENO FAIRFAX— Sandy (Young) Zeno, 59, passed away in Fletcher Allen Health Care on Thursday evening, Nov. 30, 2006, with her loving family by her side. Sandy was born on March 9, 1947, in Cambridge, daughter of Benjamin Young and the late Theresa (Sloan) Young. Sandy married John Zeno in St Luke Church in Fairfax on March 22, 1980. She was proud of her nurses aide training, graduating top in her class and worked for several years administering love and attention to her grateful patients. Sandy always looked forward to the special times shared with her grandchildren watching and helping them grow. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Like the lighthouses she admired so much Sandy remained a beacon of light offering safe haven and unconditional love for her family and friends, always being there for others in their time of need. She will be greatly missed by all of those fortunate enough to have known and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, John Zeno; her four sons: David Toof and wife Tina of Fairfax, Kevin Toof and wife Angela of Morrisville, Jeremy Zeno of Morrisville, Ryan Zeno of Fairfax; her father, Benjamin Young of Fairfax; two brothers, Lawrence Young and wife Barbara A. of Fairfax, Robert Young and wife Marlene Tillery of Fletcher; one sister, Barbara E. Young of Fairfax; her mother-in-law, Maryann Zeno of Fairfax; sister-in-law, Joanne Champagne and husband John of Swanton; three grandchildren, Jacob and Kaitlyn Toof of Morrisville, Cheyenne Toof of Fairfax; three aunts, Ruth Burleson, Beverly Lehane and husband Eugene, and Ina Gilson; several nieces and nephews including special niece and nephew Dameon and Morgan Young; and many cousins including William and Margo Wilkins. There will be no public visiting hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. in St. Luke Catholic Church officiated by chief celebrant the Reverend John Feltz and concelebrated by the Rev. Romanus Igweonu. Memorial contributions in Sandy's memory may be made to Make- A-Wish Foundation, 100 Dorset St., Suite 13, South Burlington, VT 05401.
