For many years, St. Luke's Parish here in Fairfax donated a percentage of its offertory to Sister Cecille's Order in the Dominican Republic.  Sister Cecille came from a large family up in Richford and today's Burlington Free Press carries the obituary of one of her sisters.  I also graduated from High School with her sister Annette - Spears funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, so if any of you wish to express your condolences, you may do so through www.spearsfuneralhome.com

ROSE MARIE WEST RICHFORD - Rose Marie West, age 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, July 19, 2011, at her home with her family by her side. She was born March 24, 1925, in Berkshire, the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Mary Louise (Larose) Smith. She was baptized at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford and was third born of eleven children. Through the many years of her life, Rose worked at the Union Carbide and Fonda Container, both in St. Albans, and Northland Hockey Stick Factory and the Drive-in-Theatre, both in Richford. She also had a home bakery from which she supplied bread and doughnuts to local businesses. Rose was a woman of many talents; she was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed making clothes, knitting and gardening. One of the many joys of her life was cooking meals for family gatherings. Rose's family would like to thank the Richford NOTCH Clinic and all of the Franklin County Home Health Nurses who cared for our wife and mother. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 25, 2011, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 152 Main St., Richford with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial.
