Jeannette G. Wills
Nov 11, 1949 - Sept 15, 2011 Fairfax- Jeannette G. Wills died peacefully at home in her sleep during the early morning hours of September 15th. She had been diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer in April of this year.
Jeannette Guelpa was born in Manhattan, New York on November 11, 1949. She grew up in Great Neck, New York and attended St. Aloisius Elementary School and graduated from Great Neck North High School. Jeannette then went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Business and was on the Dean’s List at the Collegiate Institute.
On December 2, 1972 Jeannette married Tim Wills at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Valatie, NY. They would have celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary this year. Jeannette and Tim moved to their current home in Vermont in 1986 from Niverville, New York.
Jeannette was a para-educator at Georgia Elementary and Westford Schools. Most recently she had been employed as the secretary of St. Luke’s Parish.
Jeannette was very active in her parish. She coordinated the RCIA program, served on the Parish Council, was Director of Religious Education, a member of the Liturgical Committee, and a lay minister.
Jeannette was predeceased by her father and mother, Leo B Jr. and Georgine Mastin Guelpa. She is survived by her husband Tim, her son Justin and his wife Emily, and her son Jeffrey. Other survivors include her sister-in-law Stephanie Guelpa, brother Leo B. Guelpa III and his partner Martha Beck, her sister Mary Guelpa Wiethake and her husband Henry, and the following brothers and sisters-in-law: Tom Wills and his wife Judy, Sue Wills Ferns, Terry Wills and his wife Lori, Chrissy Wills, Jay Wills and his wife Sandy, Elisabeth Wills Dios and her husband Lars, Phil Wills and his wife Susan, Paul Wills and his wife Laurie, Margaret Wills Day and her husband Robert, Janet Wills Sherin and her husband Keith, Maureen Wills Sjonell and her husband Craig, Rosalind Wills Yezzi and her husband John, and Izzy and his wife Lisa, as well as many nieces and nephews, and also great-nieces and nephews from both sides of the family.
The family would like to sincerely thank all of the friends and family who have supported Jeannette and her family during the past five months. Your love, prayers and efforts are much appreciated.
Visiting hours will be held at the Minor Funeral Home in Milton from 4pm to 7pm Sunday September 18th, with Vigil Prayers being offered by Fr. John Feltz at 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke’s Parish in Fairfax at 12 noon on Monday, September 19th. Burial will be held later and at the convenience of the family.
