RITA EVA MONGEON ESSEX - Rita Eva Mongeon, 87, a longtime resident, passed away way before her time on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011. Rita was born in 1924 in Enosburg Falls, daughter of the late Israel and Phyllis (Burns) Martelle. Rita was married to the love of her life, Robert R. Mongeon, on Jan. 19, 1946, in Winooski. Mom loved her church, Holy Family in Essex Jct., where she was in ministry. She will be truly missed. She is survived by her husband, Robert of Essex; her two sons, Roger and his wife, Cathy, of Westford, Donald (Buddy) and his wife, Donna, of Virginia; two daughters, Colleen and her partner, Dan, of Essex, Barbi and her husband, Rick Nott, of Hartford; her brother, Clem Martelle; her sister, Theresa Julian and her husband, Donald, of Connecticut; her brother-inlaw and sister-in-law, Bill and Claire Gregorek of Winooski; and several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. There will be no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held privately by her family.
