Sylva Thibault
May 20, 1934 - September 26, 2011

Fairfax - Sylva Thibault, 77, passed away on September 26, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Colchester on May 20, 1934, son of the late Onesiphore and Laurana (Soutiere) Thibault. 

He was a devoted husband, father, and Pepere.

Upon his retirement as owner of Thibault's Variety Store, currently Nan's Mobil, Sylva enjoyed traveling, golfing, gardening and reading.  He also worked for A. W. Rich Funeral Home for over 26 years.  He was a jack of all trades.  For 12 years he wintered in Myrtle Beach where he made many wonderful friends and looked forward to nightly fun and games.

An active member of St. Luke's Church, Sylva was a 3rd degree Knight of the Donald Kelly Council Knight’s of Columbus of Fairfax and a 4th degree Knight of the Bishop Robert F. Joyce Assembly Knights of Columbus of Milton. He was also a 60 year member of St. Jean Baptiste.  He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force Reserves.  The twinkle in his eye will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Brenda(Bessette), his children and grandchildren, Claudine(David) Gervasio, Brian and Maria of Delafield, WI,  Nicole(Peter) Berzins, Michaela and Patrick of Westfield, IN, his brothers L. Edmond, Raymond(Gloria), Robert(Yvonne), Leonard(Dorothy), and Romeo(Monica) and his sisters Therese Bourgeois and Jeannette(Richard) Blow many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was also predeceased by his sister, Aline Bernard.

He was honored and delighted by all who visited him during his final days.

The family wishes to thank Franklin County Home Health for their compassionate care.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday September 29, 2011 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel.  A wake service with Father Feltz and Knights of the Bishop Robert F. Joyce Assembly of Milton will be held during visiting hours at 3:45 p.m. and a resolution of condolence with rosary will be offered by the Knights of the Donald Kelly Council of Fairfax at 8:45 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday September 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Church with Reverend John Feltz officiating.  A committal service with inurnment in the family lot will be held on Saturday October 1, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Luke’s Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in Sylva’s memory may be made to Franklin County Home Health and Hospice, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05478.

Henry          Thanks for posting Sylva's obituary . Three great guys had their obits in today's BFP and I have no doubt that these men would be an agreeable group to sit down with over a cup of coffee . Charlie Christenden , Carroll Hull and Sylva really added to the quality of life wherever they went in this life....it was a joy and an honor to know all three.
