A beautiful bright cloudless sky here in Fairfax this morning - I am told by people that have moved from here that this is what they miss the most, the clear, bright blue skies.  The sun is shining on some very white frosty grass also and there are only a few leaves left on the trees.

I will be headed down to the St. Luke's Turkey Dinner for the 12:45 serving.  This year they only had 10 reservations for the third sitting so they have cancelled that serving.  For the first time last year I went to the Dinner and sat down to eat.  When Maryann was alive, I would go down and get takeouts and bring them home.  Takeouts are good, but there is nothing like a good sit down family style turkey dinner.  Everything was absolutely delicious and I am expecting the same this year.  Not sure what the reasoning is for the smaller crowd this year, but have heard from other organizations that they too have not had the crowds they have had in the past.

Hopefully, I will hear from some of our young hunters this weekend who will send me their photos of themselves with their prize deer.  I am not a hunter, so don't know if this is the type of weather that is good for hunting or not.  Only have seen one flock of geese so far.  Either they have left for warmer climate, or they have not gathered yet for their flight South.

Not much better on this side of the country. Morning temperatures in the upper 20's. Supposed to be topping out in the mid-40's, but it's a bright blue and sunny sky. For the next 9 months, the only time it gets warmer is when it rains, and that'll be most days.

Fall's hea, and winter's a-comin'!
