Police Say Clerk's kidnapping attempt report was false

Police say the story a Colchester convenience store clerk, who was from Fairfax, told about being kidnapped from her workplace is false.

The 19 year old female said she was outside the Champlain Farms Store at intersection of US 7 and Vermont 2A smoking a cigarette when she was grabbed from behind and forced into Jeep Cherokee parked on the US 7. She said she escaped and provided a description of the man. 

Police found the man she described. Additional interviews revealed discrepancies in her report, said police.

She is scheduled to be arraigned on a citation of providing false information to police on Thursday.
