Man dies under weight of 2 hay bales in Hyde Park barn

HYDE PARK, Vt. (AP) - Vermont authorities say a 65-year-old man trying to retrieve hay bales in his barn died when two of the 700-pound bales fell and trapped him.
 
The Lamoille County Sheriff's Department says it got a call from Hyde Park that a man was trapped under the bales and was having difficulty breathing about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Rescuers at the scene were not able to revive him.
 
The department says the death was accidental.
 
The man's name has been withheld pending notification of family.

Police have released the name of the Hyde Park man killed in a farm accident.
 
65 year old Alfred Poulin died Wednesday evening when two 700 pound hay bales fell on top of him and pinned him to the barn floor.
 
The Lamoille County Sheriff's Department says it appears Poulin was attempting to retrieve the bales from above his head when the accident happened.
