13 People Left Homeless In Suspicious Fire Early This Morning In St. Albans

Thirteen people in St. Albans are homeless following a suspicious fire early this morning.
 
The blaze broke out just after five at this apartment building on Ferris Street.

Police say someone was scene fleeing the scene shortly after the fire started.

13 people had to be evacuated from the building. No one was injured.
 
There's no word yet on exactly how the fire started, but authorities say it started outside the back of the complex and quickly spread.

One of the four apartments was destroyed. The three others in the complex suffered extensive smoke and water damage.

Residents have been relocated to a shelter at city hall.
