ST. ALBANS - An accident in Westford on Tuesday caused minor injuries for three people from Franklin County.
Vermont State Police, Williston Barracks, responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 128 at approximately 7:56 a.m. on Tuesday.
Police said that Shan Emmons, 38, of Fairfax, was attempting to pass Nathan Kapica, 39, of Georgia.
As Emmons began to pass, Kapica looked over his left shoulder, checking the lane as he too prepared to pass the car in front of him, said police.
His vehicle swerved into Emmons' auto causing the latter to leave the roadway and became airborne over a ditch, said police.
Emmons' vehicle eventually collided with a culvert and rolled over in a ditch onto its roof. Kapica's vehicle traveled through the air and collided with a utility pole about 70 feet from the road.
Both drivers, and Emmons' passenger, Tara Stanton, 34, of Fairfax, were transported to Fletcher Allen with minor injuries.
