Brian F. BarkyoumbEssex Junction - Brian F. Barkyoumb, passed away unexpectedly due to a sudden illness on Saturday January 21, 2012. He was 38 years old.
Brian was born June 9, 1973 in Burlington, the son of Carol (Campbell) and Frank Barkyoumb.
He attended schools in Richmond, Clarke School for the Deaf in Northampton, Massachusetts and graduated from Mount Mansfield Union High School. Then he went on to attend RIT in Rochester, New York. From there he accepted a position at IBM. He later accepted a Quality Control position at Twincraft Soaps in Winooski, where he continued to work up until his death.
He is survived by his loving wife Lisa (Hill), whom he married on September 10, 2011. He also leaves behind his parents Frank and Carol Barkyoumb of Westford. Brian was the youngest of four children. He leaves behind his sister Kristine Roy and her two children Mason and Carmen of Richmond. His brother Steven and wife Sara and their two sons Rowan and Augustus of Burlington. His Sister Diane Russin and her three children Danielle, Colby and Avery of Fairfax. Also surviving him are his wife’s parents, Jim Hill and Louise Lemire, and sister-in-law Cathee Hill.
Brian enjoyed all forms of sports and activities. He liked men’s softball, snowboarding, canoeing, camping and fishing. He was an avid football fan. He was especially proud of being the anchor man on his bowling league. Friends and family were important to Brian and he touched many lives. Brian always had a smile on his face and a happy go lucky attitude. He was a kid at heart and his nieces and nephews flocked to him the minute they saw him. His kind, gentle, loving manner made him a wonderful husband, son, brother, and friend. It is said the Lord always takes the good ones back too soon and in this case it is true. Brian was just starting out on his journey in life. His family cherished him and now feels the pain of loss that will never be completely healed. Brian you will never be forgotten. You will forever be in our hearts and beautiful memories, you were one of a kind sweetheart and we will always love you.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday January 26, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00pm at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel, 57 Main Street, Essex Jct., VT. A memorial service will be held on Friday January 27, 2012 at 5:30pm at Essex Alliance Church with Reverend Dr. Joseph Moore officiating.
