Hi all,

I know of someone who needs to regularly go to a food shelf.  She is working two jobs and trying to provide for her family and when she went to the winooski food shelf, when she gets home she finds the food is molded on the inside and such.

I was wondering if anyone could give me addresses to any other food shelf in that area that I may direct her towards?  I of course am going to be giving her a care package tomorrow, but any suggestions would be greatly welcomed!

You are all wonderful!  I will ask her if she needs anything specific at this time tomorrow night; but I am sure she will cook with whatever she receives.  After she told me today she came home only to find molded bread on the inside, I wanted to run to Shaw's then, but I told her I was bringing her a care package tomorrow to help. She was so thankful and almost bursting with tears. Bless her heart.

She asked if I knew of any other Food Shelfs near Winooski as it was the only one she knows of.  So if anyone knows where there is one in Essex, Burlington, Shelburne, please let me know so she can try another place to help her family during this difficult time!

I believe there is still a food shelf on North Winooski Avenue in Burlington across from the Dairy Queen.  It is the one that Wanda Hines use to be Director of.

Thank you all so much!  I have a pretty big care package for her today and would love to collect some more food for her next week to those who have offered!  Shelly I will give you a call tomorrow and Tom absolutely!

Dulsa sends hugs and kisses and was filled with tears upon receiving the care package Rev. Elizabeth!

I couldn't get her to ask for anything specific until later on as she said this was amazing and plenty.

But after chatting for a bit, she did say she could use vegetable oil for cooking.  They do also eat white rice, sauces, and noodles, canned meats, etc.  She said she can cook with anything.

To hear her story in Bosnia to how she is now living in Winooski, VT is amazing.  She is one of the bravest woman I have ever met.  When I asked how she came to the US.  It started with an American Soldier from Brattleboro, VT helped Me, My son, and husband. She is still in contact to this day with the soldier and will never forget how he changed her familes life......
