GARY THOMAS BROWN

 ALGONAC, Mich. - Gary Thomas Brown, 57, of Algonac, Mich., formerly of South Burlington, passed away following a brief illness on Thursday, March 29, 2012. He was born on May 27, 1954, in Glens Falls, N.Y., the son of Donald and Jacqueline Brown. He graduated from SBHS in 1972 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served nine years before going to work for the U.S. government in Washington, DC. While living in Maryland, he served as a volunteer with the fire department and rescue service as a certified emergency medical technician. For the many people whose lives he touched, he will be fondly remembered for his loving spirit, deep generosity and love of family and friends. He is survived by his daughters, Logan and Hanna, and their mother Kim Joseph, of Valdosta, Ga.; his mother, Jacqueline Brown of South Burlington; brothers, David and wife, Louise, of Fairfax, and Tim and wife, Cindi, of Bennington; sister, Wendy and husband, Greg Munsell, of Hinesburg; nieces, Stephanie Claro of Williston, Cassie Savio of Grand Isle, Melissa Sanchez of Philadelphia, and Jaimee Brown of Fairfax; nephews, Travis Brown of South Burlington, Aaron Brown of Vancouver, BC, Matt Brown of Fairfax, and Tony Munsell of Essex; several cousins; and devoted friend, Brenda Roberts of Valrico, Fla. He was predeceased by his father, Donald in 2006. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
