LOCATION (specific): Houston Hill Road, Cabot, VT.
VIOLATION: T 23 VSA 2501

ACCUSED: Thomas E Lussier Jr
AGE: 31

VICTIM: Karen Mueller-Harder

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On 06/02/12 at approximately 1607 hours Karen Mueller-Harder called the Vermont State Police to report that her computer was stolen from her motor vehicle.  Mueller-Harder reported that she had been involved in a two vehicle collision on Houston Hill Road in Cabot, VT approximately two hours earlier.  Mueller-Harder reported that the other occupant and her walked to a nearby residence to use a phone.  Mueller-Harder advised when she returned to her vehicle, her MacBook Air lap top computer had been stolen along with other personal items.  Mueller-Harder reported her computer to be valued at $1,300.

Mueller-Harder advised police her computer has a tracking device which coordinates with a security company, designed to locate the computer in the event of a theft.  On 06/03/12, police received information from the company Orbicule, which had located the computer via GPS coordinates as well as photographed the suspects using the computer, through the use of a built in camera.

Through investigation police were able to determine the two individuals in the photographs as Thomas E Lussier Jr and Rebecca A Young; both of Greensboro, VT.  On 06/04/12, troopers along with detectives from the Middlesex barracks went to Lussiers Jr's reported residence, located a 896 Main St, Greensboro, VT.  After speaking with both suspects, it was determined Lussier Jr and Young had been in Cabot together and came across Mueller-Harder's vehicle, and stole the computer.  Lussier Jr was identified the one who physically took the computer.

Young was issued a citation to appear at the Washington County Superior Court-Criminal Division, on 07/26/12 to answer to the charge of grand larceny.  Lussier Jr was taken into custody and transported to the Middlesex barracks for processing.  Lussier Jr was ordered to be held at the Chittenden County Correctional Facility where bail was set in the amount of $1,500.  Lussier Jr was ordered to appear at the Washington County Superior Court-Criminal Division on 06/05/12 to answer to the charge of grand larceny.
