This picture of the giant sequoia tree and the walkway through it is from Calavares State Park, about 80 miles east of Modesto, Ca. Phyllis, a friend of mine, walked the one mile trail with me as Helga's knee is not up to the task. After seeing the redwoods the three of us went to the wineries in Murphys, CA about 15 miles away. There we sampled wines from five wineries. One of them had varioius kinds of cheezes that were used to prepare the tastebuds for the wines.
Finally Helga and I got haircuts allowing our scalps to breathe again. Had the trailer checked out, as upon drawing the slideout in it makes funny noises. The RV repairman said it was the gearbox and would take a couple weeks to get the part. Since that's out of the question, he recommended one of us help it along while drawing it in. I told Helga about this and said she should not exert herself while I depress the switch. But I'll let her decide.
Stocked up with wines for the Michigan crew concentrating on the whites.
Tomorrow and the next day is my last opportunity to buy wine.
