Bob Shea- To The People Of Fairfax, Vermont
All rights begin with individual rights and call for personal responsibility.
The primary duty of government is to protect the people's rights to life, liberty and property.
Legislators must possess the following virtues:
(1.) Due diligence (Do the necessary research.)
(2.) Commitment (to the people's rights)
(3.) Accountability (open Government, Record all final votes.)
(4.) Transparency (greatly reduce the exceptions to the public disclosure law.)
(5.) Courage (to stand up for principle under pressure)
(6.) Honesty (Fund what you spend;no back room deals)
(7.) Fidelity (dedication to duty)
(8.) Equal justice for all (Eliminate preferential treatment by the State for their own officers by way of shady, secret plea
bargains.)
(9.) Thrift (Prioritize spending, starting with necessities.)
(10.) Fairness (Reform welfare, starting with eliminating state sponsored crony-capitalism.)
Government may remove unethical obstacles to equal opportunity, but no government should attempt to guarantee equal results.
Only the people have rights. Government has only duties to the people.
I am asking for your permission (vote) to represent you in the Vermont House of Representatives.
