There has been a dog wandering by our house off and on all day here on Fairfield Road in Fletcher. He(?) looks like he has been on his own for a long time. We last saw him wandering toward Ellsworth Road. We were unable to get close enough to check for tags, he is very wary.

Poor fellow; he looks terrible. He looks somewhat like a Newfie, and yes, he's been wandering a long time.  I hope someone who has seen him calls the animal control officer....

Now this is just heart breaking! I sure hope there is a happy end to this story and a follow-up if there is.

To me the breed of dog looks to be a Puli, which is a Hungarian sheep dog. They typically have dreadlocks although those dreadlocks don't look like they have been maintained very much. I only mention it because the dog may not be as neglected as it looks.

I do hope the owner is found soon.

Siofra I would also post the picture at Fletcher General, in Cambridge Market as well.... Always sad to see a dog on his own and most likely an owner is looking for him.

I believe that this is the same dog ( a Bouvier des Flandres) that was spotted in Westford a couple of weeks ago by different people.  If it is - he has been "apprehended" (for lack of a better word) and has been "adopted" by a local family.  According to the update I read on our "Front porch forum" he is doing OK and gradually gaining weight.

Prayers answered for the poor thing, thank you for the update, I feel better knowing he is safe and being taken care of.
