Hi Henry,

Skippy asked on your Forum "When will work on the new town offices begin?" Perhaps you would let him know (and I'm not being fresh), that work began more than 2 years ago.  The volunteers on this project have spent hundreds of hours, in scores of meetings and individually to get us to this point.  We're grateful that the voters approved our proposal. Now we are ready to lay out a schedule of all that needs to happen.  Here are some of the major tasks that lie ahead.

              1.  Enter into a purchase and sales agreement

              2.  Subdivide the property
              3.  Design the building (may need to go through a formal bid process)

              4.  Obtain required State permits
              5.  Engineer the project (for sewer and water hookup, drainage, etc)
              6.  Arrange for financing
              7.  Prepare the site (bid process)
              8.  Construct the building (bid process)
              8.  Move in

Each of these tasks has many components and we are meeting tomorrow to start from here.  We will likely be encouraging skilled individuals from our community to join our efforts as we move forward, and will certainly consider any contributions of labor and/or materials that the scores of skilled professional in Fairfax might wish to offer.  We can not say yet how long it will take us to get from here to there, but we will move this project forward with care.  We will keep you posted.

Skippy,  I am guessing they can't guess that date yet.  State Permitting alone is an upredictable bugger.  I am sure once that is complete and they are working on the financing, they will know then.
