Winter storm warning for Sunday, Monday

As of 4:07 p.m. Saturday Afternoon

The National Weather Service in South Burlington has upgraded the weather forecast to a winter storm warning and is projecting as much as 14 inches of snow for the Champlain Valley by Monday evening.

The warning, in effect from 8 a.m. Sunday through 6 p.m. Monday, replaces a winter storm watch that was posted early today.

Widespread rain and snow is expected, with precipitation changing over to all snow Sunday night as temperatures cool.

Total snow accumulation is expected to vary widely, according to the weather service, with the heaviest totals of 7 of 14 inches possible across the Champlain Valley. [/b]
