RICHARD ALLEN GOULD MONKTON — Richard Allen Gould, 70, of Monkton, died Thursday evening at his residence, following a long illness.
He was born on June 10, 1943, in Rutland the son of Robert Allen and Florence Jocobs (Powell) Gould.
Mr. Gould grew up in Clarendon where he attended the local schools. He married Barbara J. LaVoice on Jan. 27, 1961.
Mr. Gould was a resident of Milton for 20 years prior to relocating to Monkton in 1986. He was a self-employed carpenter and owned and operated Gould and Son Construction Company for many years until his retirement and his sons continued the company.
Mr. Gould enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of Monkton; three sons, Richard Gould of Fairfax, Thomas Gould and his wife, Julie, of Addison, and Donald Gould and his wife, Julie, of Monkton; sisters, Roberta Fagga of Milton and Tina Carpenter of Richmond; a brother, Robert Gould of Shrewsbury; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial in the East Clarendon Cemetery will be private. Arrangements are by the Aldous Funeral Home.
