I've been taking alternate routes to Essex and the surrounding areas for the last month or so due to the state of destruction 128 has been in for most of the summer at this point.  Any word as to whether it's freshly paved again or en route to being so soon?

Thanks!
Harold.

yes, and it will be for at least 1 more month.  They are removing the clay that was used as the road subbase, and adding new material. They are also attempting to clear ledge along the side of the road to allow for adequate drainage and ditching.

I am hoping that it will be as great as the other side is now when they are done :-)  I am okay with driving other routes for now for sure it that is the result.

When I braved it a couple weeks ago, it was one of the few times in the last month I was sad not to have my truck anymore.

I went by last weekend, and there was a Vehicle spraying the dirt road with water, which made a mushy mess on my tires . Would rather have had the dust.

Yes the water makes a mess of our vehicles, but definitely helps the poor people who live on that road.  I can only imagine how much dirt they have eaten just mowing their lawns.  I am sure they see the light at the tunnel where this part of the road will be as nice as the other side.

That's nto just dirt - it's some sort of oily mixture as they'd need to spray water way to often.  If you check out the bottom of your car or near your tires you can feel it.   Years back when i had a black car, you could see the build up after a few weeks.  And it doesn't come off to easy either.
