A serious health risk to customers exists at an establishment here. As a healthcare professional, it is my obligation to give you a  word of caution when having your food prepared by someone else.

Cross contamination of food, unhygienic practices, and unhygienic food preparation work spaces can lead to serious diseases and infections. If you see something, say something.

I saw many violations to the Vermont Health Codes during a food prep of a simple sandwich. ( it wasn't at Steeple). No washing of hands, before or after, dirty surfaces, handling of money, then handling food without gloves, long untied hair.....list goes on... You get the picture.

You don't want those kinds of risks to yourself or your family. If you see something that does not seem right concerning your your food preparation.....say something!

To request a Health Inspection for food safety, you can contact  http://healthvermont.gov/enviro/food_lodge/documents/Sanitarianmap.pdf

POST NOTE: I'm touchy on this subject as I was in NY for Thanksgiving. My daughter had the meal catered. We all got sick starting that night. It was a violent response as one family member after another suffered the effects of food poisoning....except the one year old baby, who didn't eat what we had.

I recently bought something from a local market here in town, and my husband got violently I'll...all night into the morning.

FOOD POISONING is a serious health risk. Effects can last a lifetime! http://blog.chron.com/medblog/2009/11/food-poisoning-ills-not-just-short-term-report-finds-longterm-dangers/

Having had a very bad case of food poisoning from a seafood sandwich when Subway used to be down in the center of Winooski, I am very cautious of this.

I have actually stopped someone before who coughed into the gloves and then was about to touch my grinder! UGH...

Once they realized what I was saying they felt awful, and actually had someone else make it.  They were really sick and honestly should not have been working at all that day.

"Life is too short, so love the one you got!"
