PRESS RELEASE
Lee Messimer Located in Fairfield, VT

Westford, VT - 12/20/13 - Today, the Vermont State Police located Lee Messimer, age 61 of Westford, in a building off of Vermont Route 36 in the town of Fairfield, VT.

Mr. Messimer was transported, as a precaution, to the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans to be evaluated health care providers. Mr. Messimer's family has been notified of his whereabouts, and should be reunited soon.

The Vermont State Police were contacted on December 10, by a family member, to request a welfare check on Mr. Messimer. During that time, there were several reports from individuals who saw Mr. Messimer. Uniform troopers and detectives appreciate the assistance from the public and media in locating him.

Very happy he has been found safe!!  Let's hope he can be kept safe this winter; I realize how hard it is to care for those who have the memory loss as I have experienced within my own family & in those close to me  but there needs to be a way to keep him safer yet still with dignity & freedom.

My hat is off to the VSP for a job well done. Awesome job to all involved!

I heard from this man's niece that he passed away a few months back. Apparently related to frostbite from his time missing and out in the cold.
