PLEASE BE ADVISED, THE VERMONT STATE POLICE IS REQUESTING THAT MOTORISTS AVOID TRAVELLING ON THE INTERSTATE.
I 89 NORTH BOUND AND SOUTH BOUND IS VERY SLIPPERY.  MULTIPLE VEHICLES HAVE SLID OFF THE ROADWAY.
THE AGENCY OF TRANSPORTATION IS OUT WITH THEIR TRUCKS.  STATE POLICE IN WILLISTON ARE OUT ASSISTING THOSE MOTORISTS THAT
HAVE GONE OFF THE INTERSTATE.

EXIT 10 TO EXIT 18, NORTH AND SOUTH BOUND ARE EXTREMELY SLIPPERY.

WE WILL UPDATE AS THE NIGHT CONTINUES.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT TRAFFIC IS MOVING AGAIN ON THE INTERSTATE, HOWEVER, THE ROAD SURFACE IS STILL SLIPPERY.
THE AGENCY OF TRANSPORTATION CONTINUES TO PUT PRODUCT DOWN AND MAINTAIN THE ROADS AND VERMONT STATE TROOPERS
ARE STILL RESPONDING TO SOME VEHICLE SLIDE OFFS.
IF IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO TRAVEL TONIGHT, PLEASE DON'T.  IF YOU ARE TRAVELING, SLOW DOWN FOR CONDITIONS AND LEAVE EXTRA ROOM

MOTOR VEHICLE INCIDENT

CASE#: 13A105189

DATE/TIME: 12/20/2013 between the hours of 1630 and 1930.
LOCATION: Interstate 89 between mile markers 69 thru 75

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On 12/20/13 between the hours of 1630 and 1930 hours Vermont State Police responded to multiple calls of vehicles which had driven off the roadway.  While responding to the Scene State Police became aware of Tractor Trailer Units which were partially blocking the roadway due to the icy conditions.  VT AOT responded to placed product on the roadway at which point all Tractor Trailer Units were able to drive away.  Due to the road conditions and multiple vehicles off the road surface traffic at times was forced to a standstill.

All vehicles which had slide off the road surface were removed and traffic was restored to normal conditions.
