So called Casaella today they have not picked up my recycles for two weeks. I was told that oday is their last day of garbage pick-up. They also said they were going around this weekend to collect the recycle bins. Anybody aware of the change in garbage haulers and what days and who will be the new haulers?

I thought Chris Santee said we could keep our recycle bins.

This was announced about Duffy's getting the contract. I was told we would get a packet in the mail but I did not.
Here is the link and info on the Duffy trash pick ups on the town web site.

Casella took our blue bin on Friday.  I called the town clerk's office this morning and they said Casella was not supposed to take them.
But in our case, they did!

Our big garbage bin disappeared with the trash pick-up last week. Is this something that they would take??

No problems with my pick-up. My recycling bin wasn't taken. It does say "Town of Fairfax" on it and I've had it longer than Casella's been taking our trash, so maybe they're just taking bins they distributed?

Does anyone know if we can purchase recycle bins from Duffy's individually? I believe they have the larger bins with wheels, which would be extremely helpful in moving the recycling to the bottom of our driveway. The Casella truck that visited our end of the road was not compatible with those types of bins, so we relied on multiple blue box bins.

Thanks!

My recycle bin says Property of the Town of Fairfax, so should be all set.

Would have been nice to be informed when this change was taking place.....

Judi,  I'm sure the Select Board would be happy to accept any questions you in writing and will discuss them during a secret meeting.

Maybe they posted a notice on their website?

Not impressed with Duffy's so far.  Called for an hour between 3-4 pm and all I got was voicemail.  As of this posting (8:10pm) garbage and recycling still out front, this is to include the whole street.

Les,
I am sorry that this has happened, can you PM me your name and street address so I can call the hauler in the AM to let them know of the missed stop.

So just discovered that if you live on a private road a waiver has to be signed in order for Duffy's to pick up your garbage.  I'm wondering why the town or Duffy's didn't disclose this prior to them starting up.  The transition to Duffy's and the planning is laughable!
