Vermont State Police is requesting people NOT travel unless absolutely necessary.  The roadways have become extremely icy and hazardous.  At this time Interstate 89 SB between exit 11 (Richmond) and exit 10 (Waterbury) will be closed to commuter traffic as well as Route 2 from Richmond to Waterbury.   Again, please DO NOT travel unless it's an emergency situation.  Agency of Transportation IS out doing their best to reduce the ice.

An updated press release will be provided as soon as one is available.    Vermont State Police request calls for road condition updates please be made to 511 if you are local or 800-ICY-ROAD.  These phone lines are maintained by the Agency of Transportation and will have the most updated information.
