Channel 3 reports that two people were killed in Georgia last night in an ATV crash, one of them being from Fairfax.

I was talking to someone Monday evening. The "Fairfax man" actually lived in Georgia on Rt. 104A near Rt. 7. I'm guessing he had a Fairfax mailing address and that's how the police identified him to the media as being from Fairfax.

The young man lived on the Highbridge Road in Georgia.  Below is his obituary:

LEE M. MATOT GEORGIA — Lee M. Matot, 24, of Highbridge Road passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, in Georgia. Lee was born Aug. 18, 1983, in Burlington, the son of Winston and Sarah Mailhot Matot. Lee was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed building, especially residential construction. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time and working on cars. He and his friends were scheduled to compete in the Figure Eight competition being held today at the Champlain Valley Fair. Lee is survived by his mother, Sarah and his stepfather, Joseph Maloney of Georgia; his father, Winston Matot of Shelburne; his brother, Wade Matot of St. Albans, his sister, Siobhan Maloney of Georgia; and his girlfriend, Karly Dusablon of Milton. He leaves his grandfather, Mark Mailhot of St. Albans; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and his many wonderful and caring friends who will miss him dearly. A celebration of Lee's life will be held on Thursday, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Burlington VT-NY Office, 1 Kennedy Drive, Suite L8, South Burlington, VT 05403. Visiting hours will be held today from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home located on Route 7 in Milton.
