For many years now, Maryann and I always buy LA-Z-BOY Recliners - Now they aren't the cheapest, but they do have a lifetime warrantee. To give you an example, back in 1964 Maryann bought me a Lazy Boy Recliner and except for getting it upholstered a few times, anything that went wrong with the construction of the chair was repaired for free. I used that chair until about five years ago, although Maryann threatened many times to have the local trash hauler come in and take it away. Maryann had bought the chair at Archambault Furniture Store which used to be up on Upper Main Street in Winooski and when they went out of business, I called Doubleday and Total Home and they sent someone out to look at the chair and took care of the repairs at no cost to me.
Well, back in 1998, Maryann had bought a LA-Z-BOY Recliner, but after we had it for a while, she went back to another chair she had and finally conned me into getting rid of the old LA-Z-BOY I had and use hers that she wasn't using. Took me a while to get used to it as after about 40 years of using the same chair, it kind of grew on me. Well, last night I sat down in the new one and here is what happened:

I hadn't remembered exactly how I got it fixed in the past, so tipped the chair over and took the pictures you saw above and was going to print them out and go down to Total Home where we bought the chair. I decided I would call them before I went down. George Berno who we bought it from wasn't there and the girl who answered the phone looked up when we bought it. She told me, we can fix it, but it won't be under warranty. I told her she had better check as when we bought the chair, we bought LA-Z-BOY strictly because of its lifetime warranty. She came back and asked me if I could give her an ACK number. I lifted the foot rest, fighting off two cats who were trying to help me, I guess, gave her the number and she said the repairman would be out to take a look at it and would call me before hand.
I said, then it is under warranty and she responded, "Oh Yes."
Don't know about you, but recliners really need a lifetime warranty, so if you are buying a recliner, check it out.[/b]
