Nora Mae (Johnson) Root, 78, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. She was born on May 12, 1937 in Lake Landing, North Carolina daughter of the Quincy and Jennie (Meade) Johnson. Nora retired from IBM and Walmart. She enjoyed painting, traveling and camping.
Nora is survived by her children Bruce Root, Edith Root, Lorinda Couture, Maitland Root,
Terrence Root Jr., Stephen Root, Christopher Root and Peter Root, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by her brother Walter Johnson, and Sister Alice Meade.

A graveside service with inurnment will be held on December 5, 2015 at 11 am in the family lot in Pleasant View Cemetery, Jericho. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family also invites you to share your memories and condolences at www.awrfh.com.
