John Wesley Spaulding Sunday, August 22, 1948 - Sunday, April 24, 2016

Fletcher – John Wesley Spaulding, 67, died peacefully but unexpectedly, early Sunday morning April 24, 2016 at his home. John was born on August 22, 1948 in Jeffersonville, the son of Wesley and Ardelle ( Corse ) Spaulding. A lifelong resident of Fletcher, John loved working the family dairy farm. He helped Mike and his wife Sandy with their beef cows. He also enjoyed his time spent boiling in his sugarhouse and he loved working with his tractors, accompanied by his buddy Brutus. A favorite good weather pastime was cruising in his Corvette with Sue. He was also known by friends and family for his stories and “Spauldingisms”. John is survived by his wife and companion of over 30 years, Sue McGregor, his son Mike Spaulding and his wife Sandy of Fletcher, Sue’s son Joseph McGregor and wife Becky of Georgia and Sue’s daughter Jennifer Gillilan of Fletcher. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jacob, Miranda, Mikey, Evan, Jay, Kayla, Amber, Logan, Aaron and Tyler and his sister Rhoda Spaulding of Williston, and many cousins. He was predeceased by his son Dale and daughter Sheri in Feb. of 1989. Memorial Contributions may be made to either the Binghamville Cemetery Assoc. or to the Fletcher Historical Society, both c/o Charles Tinker, 629 Fairfax Road, Cambridge, VT 05444. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday April 28, 2016 from 4-7pm in the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton followed by a funeral service at 7pm. Burial will be in the Binghamville Cemetery on Friday at 10 am.
