Robert D. McGregor, Sr. - North Hero - Robert Donald McGregor, Sr., 93, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at his home in North Hero surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Alburgh on July 14, 1923. Robert proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He then returned to Vermont and was a dairy farmer. He looked forward to hunting season and fishing with his numerous friends. His closest fishing buddy was his son Bobby who spent countless hours with his Dad fishing on the treasured Pelot’s Bay on beautiful Lake Champlain in North Hero. Robert will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his 3 sons Robert McGregor, Jr. of North Hero, Tom McGovern and wife Sue of South Hero, John McGovern and wife Nancy of South Burlington, sister-in-law Carol Locke and family of Jeffersonville and all of his hunting and fishing buddies.

He was also predeceased by his wife Phyllis (Bell) McGovern McGregor, his son Kevin McGovern and daughter Mary McGovern Gillilan.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at A. W. Rich Funeral Home - Fairfax Chapel, 1176 Main St. Fairfax, Vt. 05454. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday July 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the family lot in Bush Cemetery, Alburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. The family also invites you to share your memories and condolences by visiting www.awrfh.com.
