Thank you to all the Fairfax voters who once more entrusted me to represent our community in the State House. It is an honor and privilege to serve Fairfax for another 2 years.

Hi Barb,

Has the legislature ever floated the idea of longer terms for legislators? Two years is a short amount of time and really just leaves a perpetual "campaign mode" hanging in the air. I think 3 or 4 years is more suitable for the issues that are dealt with. Maybe it's just election burnout, but really would like to have a lengthier settle down periods before starting up again...

Something to consider for the future.

A four year term for Governor and Law makers has been debated in the past, and in fact a study by a three member panel was just completed that made the recommendation.  You are right about the value of the Constitutional change and I think the conversation will continue.
