Robert Gordon Blanchard passed away on January 30th, 2017 after a long illness. He was a loving father, an amazing architectural designer and as a person a visionary!

He will be missed by his daughters Ania Blanchard and Jody Blanchard Married to Lewyt Bowley. His Grand children Joshua Tahair Married to Michelle (Gardner) Tahair and Trevor Tahair. He was also very close to many of his nieces and nephews: Laura Harding, Norman Blanchard, Alura Rose (Lisa Blanchard), Tammy Wootton, Scott Blanchard, Desiree Blanchard, and Justin Blanchard, Douglas Blanchard, Theresa Gibbons, Jeffery Blanchard, Dale Banfield, Bentley Banfield, Perry Banfield, Randy Blanchard, Timmy Blanchard As well as their spouses and children.

He was predeceased by his parents and six siblings as well nephews and a niece. He was the last member of his generation to pass on.

He was an amazing designer and his spirit will live on in the buildings he designed and built that span Vermont, Massachusetts and New York. He went to Boston College for architecture but was designing green living 20 years before anyone new what that meant!

He had an impact on the way people viewed the world. He will be missed by friends, clients and a family who know he is now designing beyond this world! Love you Dad!

We will celebrate his life on Monday February 13th from 5-8 pm at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel, 57 Main St. Essex Jct., as well as a large party on his birthday July 4th, 2017 at the Sandbar State Park in VT.

Any contributions will go toward my father’s final wishes of helping his daughter Ania attend college and to support the building of a playground for children with special needs that he designed with his daughter Jody. Memorial contributions may be sent to Jody Blanchard, 14 Country Lane, Williston, VT 05495. The family also invites you to share your memories and condolences by visiting www.awrfh.com.
