Hi All,

Although I did not get my Franklin County Edition of the Free Press, they have it on line this morning and Peter Mallett, well known Georgia Historian is featured in it.  Karen Langelier is going to let me borrow hers so I can read it. I notice that one of the photo captions says that a lot of the old remedies contained a lot of alcohol, which I suspect was true.  For those of you that may have remembered your grandmother's remedies, it usually contained Brandy which was always kept for medicinal purposes and there certainly was nothing better for the chills than a "Hot Toddy."

This remedy may still be used in some households today - However I don't know the recipe except it did contain some brandy and sugar.[/b]
