Hi All,

Well, this morning I did my usual thing, got up, checked the thermometer, grabbed a glass of orange juice and turned on my computer while the coffee was brewing.  I downloaded my mail and noticed lots and lots of comments had been made on some of the Old Fairfax Photos in my Photo Gallery.  Sure enough, somebody had put in links to Porn Sites, like about 12 on a couple of pictures for a total of 24.

Up to this point I have allowed everyone the privilege of making comments under the photos, but looks like I am only going to be able to allow those that are logged on to do so.  I removed all the comments and started changing the permissions on the different albums, but that will take me a while as there are 127 albums.  I am unable to do that on the albums created by David Shea and Mike Cain as they are the only ones that can do that.

I thought, "What a way to start a day, but at least only had a couple try to register on my forum."

Too bad these XXX Rated web sites don't have anything better to do, but now you know why before I activate your account I always ask a few questions about you as if I didn't this forum could really be contaminated with people I don't know posting a lot of XXX stuff.

Mike Cain mentioned in his blog this morning seeing a few tourist in town yesterday.  It certainly is the season as we enter my favorite time of year.  All goes back to when I was a kid and my parents were always so happy they could finish paying up the previous winter's grain bill as the cows were out in the meadow with high milk production.  This was the time of year we got our biggest milk checks, had all kinds of food from the gardens and mother had canned many quarts of blackberries she would use for pies during the winter.  My parents had already ordered a barrell of flour and a 100 pound bag of sugar from Don Morey, the grain man in East Fairfield as mother always made bread all during the winter along with her other baking.  Dad had already picked out the beef cow that would be butchered in late November and would start feeding her to make sure there was plenty of fat on her.  Perhaps back in those days it didn't take as much to make us feel grateful for what we had, because, although we didn't realize it, we didn't have much of the material things in life.

So this morning as I sit here in my 16th year of retirement, listening to the carpenters working on this cool brisk morning on my daughter's house next door, watching the occasional car drive down the Fletcher Road, JR's Beef Cattle casually eating in the pasture across the road in front of some beautiful maples beginning to take on their fall colors I realize how many things I have to be thankful for.

These are the times I selfishly wish time would stand still at what appears to be the most perfect time of my life.

Henry Raymond
