BUILDING COMMITTEE REPORT
[/size]

As many of you are aware, we have reactivated our Building Committee and the members were asked to consider two plans:

1. To build a new church and hall.

2.  To remodel the existing building and possibly do an addition.  This would involve relocating temporarily for worship, religious education classes and storage.

On Wednesday, September 19th, the committee recommended to the Parish Council to build a new church and hall.

The Parish Council had the following options to consider:

1.  Accept the Building Committee's recommendation to build a new church and hall

2:  Remodel the present church.

3.  Remodel the present church and build an addition.

4.  Do nothing and possibly return donations to those desiring a refund.

During the remodeling process it would be necessary to rent and maintain a building for approximately a year for weekend Masses, funerals and religious education programs.

The Parish Council voted unanimously to build a new church and hall.  The next step will be to request permission from the diocese to proceed with the building plans.  If the permission is granted, the permit process would then begin.[/b]
