Obituary for Joshua Walter Wilson Sears

Early Monday morning, February 5, 2024, hours before sunrise our sweet, wonderful Josh was called home to be with our Lord Jesus. Josh passed suddenly of heart complications and diabetes.
Born in Salem, Massachusetts on Oct. 25, 1977, to Cynthia (Stewart-Sears) Kane and the late Walter A. Sears jr., Joshua later became a big brother to his best friend Jeremiah when he was born just 3 years later.
The family made their home in Fairfax, Vermont where the boys attended and graduated from Bellows Free Academy in Fairfax. Upon Joshua’s graduation in 1995, he went on to continue his education at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt.
Joshua was an avid New England Patriots fan as well as a Boston Red Sox fan. He loved to collect comic books, he loved superheroes, Lego’s and building puzzles. He also enjoyed many hours on the baseball field as a child.
Joshua was also a wonderful foster brother to more than 100 children throughout his childhood. Some of them becoming honorary brothers and sisters. He would do anything for anyone and loved his family and friends fiercely. Anyone who has had the honor of knowing Joshua, would absolutely agree.
Although all these things were of great importance to Josh, nothing compared to the pride and the joys of his life, his children; Mariah (23), Drew (20) and Baylie (11). He just beamed with pride over them all.
In Dec. 2021, he became engaged to his best friend Tanna (the love of his life) whom he has gone on to share 4 wonderful years with. He has become a father figure to her girls Carley and Kayla, and a proud “papa” to Leah whom he simply adored.
Joshua leaves behind his mother; Cynthia (Stewart-Sears) Kane of Kissimmee, Fl., his brother; Jeremiah Sears and his wife Tatiana of Harmony, FL., and niece Thaina. His fiancé and love of his life, Tanna Hane of Lakeland, Fl., his children Mariah and Baylie of Alabama, and his son Drew of Vermont. He also leaves his (stepchildren) Carley, Kayla, Dan, and granddaughter Leah. In addition to his wonderful family, he too leaves behind his “honorary” brother and sisters; Ade Kassim, Raylene Barkley, and Jaida Forsey. He also leaves behind his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joshua was preceded in death by his father; Walter Sears Jr., his maternal grandparents Phyllis (Chisholm) Stewart, and Wilson Hurlbert, his paternal grandparents Harriet (Ramsdell) Sears and Walter Sears Sr. as well as his Aunt Joyce and Uncle Richard.
We invite you to join us at Osceola Memorial Gardens, 3175 Pleasant Hill Rd., Kissimmee, Fl. 34746, on Sunday, February 11, 2024, from 5pm-9pm. A service will take place at 6pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made In Joshua’s name to the AMERICAN DIABETES FOUNDATION.
