Roy D Raymond (Pat) 68 of Georgia and Fletcher VT passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side July 4th.

Roy was born May 26th 1956 to Donald and Bernice Raymond, he was the oldest of 4 children, he was raised in Fletcher where he attended BFA Fairfax and graduated in 1976 after graduation Roy enlisted in the VT Army National Guard and was with Co C 1/172d in Morrisville VT from 1976 until he retired in Nov of 2001, In Roy’s civilian life he was employed for the University of Vermont as a janitor and could tell you all about the college throughout his many years of employment there. Roy enjoyed his free time by spending time with family, traveling throughout VT attending softball and soccer games for his granddaughter or traveling to NC to help his stepdaughter during deployments.

Roy was a hunter and fisherman fishing when he could even if it was with the grandchildren, he was always looking for deer no matter where he was even while driving to and from work. Roy was a big Red Sox and Bruins fan never missing a game he would even watch the classic games if they weren’t playing, Roy would spend quality time on weekends playing video game golf with his brother-in-law Sam. During down time you could find Roy sitting in his chair with his special companion Joy and reading a book. Roy was extremely proud of his grandchildren and everything they accomplished in life, he will be greatly missed by those that loved him greatly.

Roy leaves his stepdaughters, Melanie Lapierre and husband Kevin of Georgia, Torrey Sise of Fletcher, his two oldest grandchildren known as his babies Gage Lapierre and Avery Tetrault, grandchildren Caitlin, Maverick, Emma and William Lapierre, special friend Sandra Raymond, sisters Ann Broe of Fletcher, Kathy and husband Mike Murray of Fletcher, special niece and nephews Craig and Samantha Broe, Hunter and Chase Murray, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Roy was predeceased by his parents Donald and Bernice Raymond, Brother Timmy Raymond, Brother-in-law Gary (Sam) Broe and his companion Joy.

The family would like to give thanks to Bayada especially his hospice team Amanda, Michelle, and Amanda his angels thank you for all your love and support during this time, we would also like to thank Franklin County Rehab especially Lauren, Kate, Amy, Lynn.

Per Roy’s request there will be no services a private military honor will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions in Roy’s memory can be made to any VFW of Vermont.
